As title sponsor, Bridgestone is continuing its mission to promote clean mobility solutions and empower the next generation of engineers and innovators.
The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge is recognised globally as one of the most advanced and demanding solar-powered vehicle competitions. Student-led teams from leading universities across the globe will travel 3,000 kilometres through the Australian outback from Darwin to Adelaide, using only solar energy to power their vehicles. The event serves as a real-world testing ground for cutting-edge innovation in energy efficiency, aerodynamics, and sustainable design.
The 2025 edition of the challenge marks Bridgestone’s continued commitment to a decarbonised future, aligning with its global “Bridgestone E8 Commitment.” This vision focuses on eight key values including Energy, Ecology, and Efficiency, all core principles echoed throughout the solar challenge.

Through the World Solar Challenge, Bridgestone not only underscores its corporate sustainability agenda but also empowers students and young engineers to pioneer the mobility technologies of tomorrow. With many past participants now working in the automotive and clean energy industries, the event has become a launchpad for future talent in science, engineering, and environmental innovation.
In addition to supplying teams with tyres built using 63% recycled and renewable materials including Bridgestone's innovative ENLITEN technology the company is supporting the development of safer, more efficient vehicle performance. Bridgestone’s technical teams will work closely with entrants, offering both expertise and eco-friendly product solutions to meet the extreme demands of the Australian terrain.
